Jupiter Hammerheads News Release
JUPITER, FL- The Jupiter Hammerheads (17-26) beat the St. Lucie Mets (15-23) by a score of 6-3 tonight at Roger Dean Stadium. Jupiter got a strong outing from starter Tom Koehler (1-0), who allowed two runs on four hits and struck out four in his Hammerheads debut.
Jupiter scored three runs in the third inning off of Scott Moviel (0-5) to overcome an early 1-0 deficit for their second straight win. Shortstop Osvaldo Martinez hit a two RBI single with two outs to give the Hammerheads the lead. The Hammerheads added an insurance run on an RBI single by Tim Torres in the seventh inning. Torres and Geraldo Valentin each had two hits for Jupiter.
The two teams continue their three-game series tomorrow at Roger Dean Stadium. Florida State University product Elih Villanueva is slated to start for the Hammerheads. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 PM.
