Hammerheads Announce Preseason Schedule

Wilmington Hammerheads FC News Release


Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC released their preseason schedule today, kicking off their first match on the road versus the Charleston Battery on Tuesday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Blackbaud Stadium; there is no charge for parking or admission.

The Hammerheads will host one preseason match at Legion Stadium versus the University of North Carolina at Wilmington on Saturday, March 22. Admission is free for all ages.

Tuesday, March 11 - Charleston Battery - Blackbaud Stadium - 2:00 PM

Saturday, March 15 - Elon University - Rudd Field - 1:00 PM

Wednesday, March 19 - Coastal Carolina University - CCU Soccer Field - 7:00 PM

Saturday, March 22 - University of North Carolina Wilmington - Legion Stadium - 6:00 PM

Friday, March 28 - Jacksonville United FC - Patton Park, Jacksonville, Fla. - 7:00 PM

Saturday, March 29 - University of North Florida - Patton Park, Jacksonville, Fla. - 7:00 PM

Monday, March 31 - Pro Soccer Consulting Ltd - Patton Park, Jacksonville, Fla. - 10:00 AM

The Hammerheads have partnered with Jacksonville United FC of the National Premier Soccer League for a preseason stint in Jacksonville, Florida prior to the start of the USL PRO regular season. Jacksonville United FC will be hosting the Hammerheads March 27-31, allowing them access to Patton Park for training and their scheduled preseason matches.

"This will be a good road trip before the start of the new season," said Wilmington Hammerheads FC Head Coach David Irving. "It will be a good opportunity for some team bonding between the returning and new players."

Wilmington Hammerheads FC kick off their 2014 USL PRO regular season on Saturday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. versus the Harrisburg City Islanders at Legion Stadium.
