Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC is pleased to announce that the club will host four professional open tryouts for the upcoming 2015 USL PRO regular season. The tryout dates are slated for December 6-7, 2014 as well as February 7-8 and March 7, 2015. All tryouts will be held at Cape Fear Regional Soccer Park in Wilmington, North Carolina.
The Hammerheads will also be holding a tryout in Carlstadt, New Jersey at Capelli Sport Center on January 17-18, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. each day.
These professional combines are great opportunities for potential players to showcase their abilities in front of key decision makers for the Wilmington Hammerheads organization. Eligible college seniors, free agents and amateur players seeking a professional contract are welcome to register.
"We are an ambitious club and these trials provide an opportunity for our organization to identify players who have the talent and drive to strengthen our team," said newly appointed Head Coach and Technical Director Carson Porter. "There are a lot of good players in this country and a lot of great stories of open tryouts being the beginning of a players long and successful career in the sport. We hope there are such players at our trials that deserve an opportunity to join our club and pursue their soccer goals."
Combines have led to the discovery of several key players for the Hammerheads in recent years such as midfielder Steven Miller, who made 26 appearances during his debut season in 2014. Past Hammerheads combines have assembled and produced players such as Luke Mulholland (Real Salt Lake, 2011 USL PRO Rookie of the Year, 2011 USL PRO Team of the Year) and veteran Hammerheads players Paul Nicholson and Tom Parratt who have taken the field for multiple years.
Players interested in attending these professional combines must register online HERE . A complete registration form must be filled out prior to the combine. A registration fee of $175 must be submitted during the registration process along with indication of the combine date in which the player plans to attend. All players are required to bring a form of valid identification (i.e. Driver's License, passport, etc.) and personal equipment to the tryout. Registration does not include transportation, meals, or hotel costs. There will be no refunds for cancelled registration.
