LEWISTON, ME -- Pierre Olivier Morin's three point night helps lead the Lewiston MAINEiacs to a 4-1 win over the VAL-d'Or Foreurs at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee Saturday night. The win snaps a four-game losing streak, improving the MAINEiacs record to 9-8 on the year.

For the second time in as many nights, Michael Chaput scored the first goal for Lewiston. Chaput flipped the puck past Foreurs goaltender Raphael D'Orso to give the MAINEiacs a 1-0 lead halfway through the first. Rookie Francis Beauvillier added to the lead, scoring on a hard wrist shot three minutes later to make it 2-0.

Fifteen seconds into the second period, Val-D'Or registered on the scoreboard, when the league's leading scorer Jonathan Hazen beat Adrien Lemay on a quick shot. The MAINEiacs reclaimed a two-goal edge on a power play goal from Eric Gelinas, his first tally of the season. Pierre-Olivier Morin scored a wild shorthanded goal at 6:58 of the second. Morin cleared the puck on a dump and change, and the puck bounced several times and slipped between the five-hole of D'Orso, giving Lewiston a 4-1 lead.

Neither team scored in the third, as the MAINEiacs earned the 4-1 win. For complete game recap CLICK HERE.
