Hall of Fame Banquet Moved to January 29th

Due to inclement weather, the Western Mass Baseball Hall of Fame banquet was pushed back one day - from Wed 1/28 to Thursday 1/29. The event will begin at the same time (6pm) and will be held in the 12th floor ballroom at La Quinta Inn & Suites in Springfield. Tickets to the event are $45. Tables of 10 can be purchased for $425.

Joe Castiglione - Red Sox radio broadcaster who called his first ever game in Holyoke's MacKenzie Stadium!

Joe McCarthy - Head Coach of Holyoke High from 1981-1991 who led the team to the 1985 State Championship

Art Ditmar - Former pitcher for the New York Yankees and Philadelphia/Kansas City A's.

1934 Post 21 American Legion Team - Famously known for standing up to racism during the American Legion Sectionals in Gastonia, N.C. - refusing to play when they learned that African American teammate Ernest "Bunny" Taliaferro would not be allowed to participate.

Vic Raschi - Member of the New York Yankees 'big three' of the late 1940's and early 1950's. Raschi was a four time MLB All Star and won six world championships in his career.

Richard Bedard - Former Athletic Director and head baseball coach at American International College; known for winning the ECAC Division II/III championship in 1979.

Stan Ziomek - Long time 'Mr. Baseball' in Amherst and director of the town's youth baseball programs.

MassLive Contributor and local sports caster Scott Coen will emcee the event. There will also be a silent auction with various items available for bid! Ticket are on sale today!
