Halifax Rainmen News Release
The Halifax Rainmen have released two more players from their pre- season roster.
On Wednesday, the franchise waived 6'9, 220 pound Centre, Kenny Tribbett and 6'6, 215 pound Forward Damon Powell.
"Powell needs to be part of a team where he'll see a lot of playing time, and we couldn't offer those kind of minutes to him this year," said Head Coach Les Berry.
The decision to release Tribbett was made after 7'0 centre Cyril Awere arrived to training camp.
"We had to release someone to make room for Cyril, and unfortunately Kenny was that guy," said Berry. "At this point, we look forward to seeing if Cyril has the ability to give us what we need in the paint this season."
The Rainmen will kick off their fourth season with the Rogers Slam Dunk Fan Night at the Halifax Metro Centre on Thursday, December 16 at 7 pm. For the latest Halifax Rainmen news, please visit www.rainmenbasketball.ca.
