DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Ollie Guidry was named the American Indoor Football League's Northern Conference Coach of The Year, it was announced today.

After a 1-2 start, the Express won its final 10 regular season games and advanced to the Northern Conference championship game.

"It's such an honor to receive an award like this," Guidry said. "This award would have never been possible if it wasn't for a great staff and a tremendous team. We have a special group of men that I respect and care for."

Voting for coach of the year came from a panel of 18 coaches and owners in the Southern Conference. Teams were not allowed to vote for their own representatives in both coaching and player balloting. Guidry received 10 votes, Bobby Olive of Canton six and Gary McPeak of Huntington two.

In addition to Guidry's award, the Express claimed all four Northern Conference player of the year awards.

"This team we had believed in our staff and themselves, which is exactly why we had such great success this season," Guidry said. "I want to thank the coaches and owners in the North this year for voting for our players and myself. Like many other teams this year, we went through many sacrifices to make this year special and to be rewarded like this is an humbling experience."

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - David Humphreys, who has led the Rome Renegades to two championship games in two different leagues in two consecutive seasons, has been named the American Indoor Football League Southern Conference Coach of the Year, it was announced Friday.

Humphreys guided the Renegades to a 12-2 mark in 2006 and a berth in Monday's American Bowl II against the Canton Legends. In 2005, Humphreys led the Renegades to the championship game of another indoor football league.
