AIFL Announces Front Office Awards

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - In addition to recognizing the on-the-field accomplishments of its players, the American Indoor Football League appreciates the efforts of its front office staffs by announcing its Front Office awards.
"The front offices in our leagues gave us a lot of hard work and dedication in the 2006 season," said AIFL President Andrew G. Haines.
General managers from each conference voted on eight operations categories, with a panel of media who cover indoor football voting on the communications categories.
Each team was allowed to select one member of its staff for their respective conference's "front office" team. The Rome Renegades front office declined, noting that their success was also a team effort.
Highlighting the awards were the "Owner of The Year" nods in each conference. The Reading Express' Carl Leaman, Ben Fahndrich and Charles Mitchell took the Northern Conference honors while in the Southern Conference, there was a tie between Raleigh Rebels/Rome Renegades owner Harry Pierce and the Daytona Beach Thunder ownership group of Kevin McDonald, Zack McDonald and Antone Smothers.
The AIFL concludes its second season Monday when the Rome Renegades host the Canton Legends in American Bowl II.
