Grand Rapids Griffins News Release
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Grand Rapids Griffins assistant coach Jim Paek and numerous past and prospective Griffins players will take part in the Detroit Red Wings' annual strength and conditioning camp for prospects, to be held July 5-10 at Joe Louis Arena.
Paek will aid the Red Wings' coaching staff in putting 20 prospects through their paces, including three players who skated for the Griffins during the 2007 Calder Cup Playoffs: forwards Cory Emmerton and Jan Mursak, and defenseman Jakub Kindl.
Other participants will include Detroit's entire five-man class from the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Michigan State junior forward Justin Abdelkader, and several players who could suit up for the Griffins in 2007-08, such as forwards Darren Helm and Mattias Ritola.
The camp will be divided into on-ice and off-ice sessions. On-ice workouts will take place every day from 8:30-10 a.m., and the camp will conclude with a skills competition on July 10.
