
Grieb Earns Second Consecutive National Guard MVP of the Week

SAN JOSE, CA - The SaberCats are pleased to announce QB Mark Grieb has been named National Guard MVP for Week 18, marking the second consecutive week he's earned the honor, as voted on by fans on Facebook.com.
Grieb (6-2, 200) received 52 percent of the fans' vote for his effort in the SaberCats' 60-40 win over the Orlando Predators. He threw for 295 yards on 26-of-32 (81.3%) passing and five touchdowns. Grieb currently leads the AFL with 4,682 passing yards and sits 464 yards shy of breaking QB Chris Greisen's single-season record for passing yards (5,146) which he set in 2010 with the Milwaukee Iron.
The honor was Grieb's second National Guard MVP of the season. Other candidates included Dallas WR Tiger Jones and Pittsburgh WR Mike Washington.
