GREENEVILLE, TN - The Greeneville Astros have announced the addition of Joseph Brooks as the new Head Groundskeeper at Pioneer Park. Brooks will be responsible for overseeing all field maintenance at Pioneer Park during the Astros season as well as the Tusculum College baseball season.
Prior to joining the Astros, Brooks was the Head Turf Manager for Georgia Southern University from 2013-15. He also served as the assistant groundskeeper with the Rome Braves in 2013, and spent time as an assistant with the Daytona Cubs in 2011.
"I'm really excited about moving to Greeneville and working with the Astros organization as well as the Tusculum College baseball program," said Brooks. "I'm looking forward to this opportunity."
Brooks received a B.A. in History Education from Shorter University in Rome, GA in 2010.
A native of Albertville, AL, Brooks joins the Astros after former head groundskeeper Kelly Rensel left to fill the same role with the Great Lakes Loons of the Midwest League, the class A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
