
Grand Rapids Flight shooting for big season in 2007

Grand Rapids, MI- The Grand Rapids Flight, who reached the Final Four in the International Basketball League's postseason tournament in 2006, will begin training camp this week. Coach David Fox, who has already put some of the team through preliminary workouts, is excited to get the 2007 season started.
"My staff has put together a tremendous group of experienced players with skills that complement the IBL's high-scoring, non-stop style of play," said Coach Fox. "We plan to put on an exciting show for all of our fans this year."
Highlighting an exciting crop of new players this season is 7'9" 370lb. Chinese sensation Sun Ming Ming, who will arrive in Grand Rapids this week to continue his quest to make the NBA.
The 2007 roster also boasts 7 players with professional experience in the CBA, ABA, IBL or overseas. In addition, 8 players bring NCAA Division I or II experience to the table, including Jeff Rabey (Bradley), Waki Williams (Memphis), Jonathan Woods (Fresno St.), David Williams (Saginaw Valley St.), Kenny Langhorne (So. Arkansas) and DeAngelo Johnson (Lincoln Memorial).
Grand Rapids will play one of the toughest schedules in the IBL this season with nearly 75% of their games coming against opponents who reached the league's postseason tournament in 2006.
All ten of the Flight's home games will be played at Forest Hills Northern High School, beginning with the Flight's home opener against the Lansing Capitals on Friday, April 6th.
