Grady Stadium Will be the New Home of Atlanta Blaze, Beginning this Season

After three seasons of playing at Fifth Third Bank Stadium, the Atlanta Blaze will be calling Grady Stadium their home starting with the 2019 season. Located in Midtown Atlanta, south of Piedmont Park, Grady Stadium boasts a synthetic turf field and capacity of 6,500.

Spencer Ford, Vice President of Player Personnel of the Atlanta Blaze, explained the importance of the Blaze's transition of stadiums. "The Atlanta Blaze continues to change to benefit the city of Atlanta and its surrounding areas. Our relocation to Grady Stadium in Midtown Atlanta will help us grow in many ways." Spencer Ford says. "Most importantly, it will enable us to reach all fans of all ages. This is very exciting news for our organization."

With the migration to Grady Stadium, the Atlanta Blaze becomes the first team in the MLL to host games at a stadium located inside the heart of a city.

Grady Stadium was designed by Richard Aeck, and it is considered a masterpiece of modern engineering expression. In 1996, Grady Stadium was utilized as a training site for athletes during the Olympic Games. It is occasionally used as a practice facility for the NFL's Atlanta Falcons.

Grady Stadium is located at 929 Monroe Dr NE, Atlanta, GA 30308. The first game at Grady Stadium in Blaze history will on June 2nd, 2019 against the Chesapeake Bayhawks.
