Rockford Thunder News Release

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - The Rockford RiverHawks will spend the next two weeks without one of their hottest hitters.

The RiverHawks placed first baseman Todd Martin on the 14-day disabled list on Monday. They activated pitcher Fabian Gomez.

Martin had been playing with an injured wrist. Martin, who began the season on the DL with a groin injury, is hitting .343 with five home runs and 27 RBI in 31 games.

Gomez was on the DL because of blisters on his pitching hand. The former Rockford College star southpaw is 1-2 with a 5.14 earned-run average.
