Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release
Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced this morning that the baseball club has released relief pitcher Casey Hodges.
Hodges, 25, had a 0-1 record this season and a 6.10 ERA in 10.1 innings. After getting hurt in training camp, Hodges spent the first month of the season on the inactive list. He made his Goldeyes debut June 21 at home against the Gary SouthShore RailCats.
Winnipeg now has 20 players on its active roster, evenly split between pitchers and position players.
The Goldeyes begin the first of four days off today because of the Northern League All-Star Break. Wes Long, Kevin West and Chris Salamida will represent the Goldeyes at the Northern League/Golden League All-Star Game in Tucson, Ariz. on Wednesday.
Winnipeg is back in action Friday night when it travels to Fargo to meet the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in the first of three games at Newman Outdoor Field.
