Gnats' Mascot Gnate Not Named In Mitchell Report

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Mitchell Report, which looks into the illegal use of steroids and other performance enhancing substances by players in major league baseball, did not name Savannah Sand Gnats Mascot Gnate T. Gnat in its report released earlier today.
Despite Gnate's plump appearance, the report showed no evidence of Gnate T. Gnat having taken any performance enhancing substances to better his ability to be a mascot at the minor league level. As of today, Gnate's Race Around the Bases record currently stands at 3-156 over three seasons as the mascot for the Sand Gnats.
Gnate swears by his offseason workout plan, which consists of playing Twister and dancing to the "Macarena" and the "Cha-Cha Slide." His offseason diet includes steamed crabs, pizza and ice cream.
When asked for comment, Gnate did not reply because he cannot speak. Gnate simply smiled and waved as he continued to work on his figure for the 2008 season.
Rumors had been circulating around the Savannah area that Gnic, the former mascot of the Savannah Sand Gnats and older brother of current mascot Gnate, was linked to performance enhancing drugs due to his muscular appearance. Gnic was the mascot from 1996-2004.
