GhostRiders training camp set to begin February 3

February 1, 2007 - World Indoor Football League 2 (WIFL 2) - Osceola Ghostriders News Release

[KISSIMMEE, Fla.] - The Osceola GhostRiders and Head Coach Marquette Smith are pleased to announce the start of 2007 Training Camp. Camp will begin Saturday, February 3 and conclude on February 18. Champions Sports Complex, located at 6700 Kings Pointe Parkway in Orlando will host the GhostRiders camp.

What to look for...

Expect a battle at the quarterback position. All three candidates are athletic and have played for major Division I programs. Damion Dowdell (Michigan State), Fabian Walker (Florida State) and Brandon Sumner (Central Florida) all fit the mold Head Coach Marquette Smith is looking for, "We need a guy that can make plays with his feet as well as his arm. I feel like this year I am blessed with not just one, but three guys who fit that description."

Eight players from last season's 8-6 are invited to attend camp. Smith says, "Just because a guy made it last year, doesn't guarantee him a roster spot this year. We will evaluate talent and put the best team on the field we can regardless of the name on the back of the jersey."
