KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- The Osceola GhostRiders signed indoor football veteran quarterback Travis Wilson.

Wilson played two games with the Daytona Beach Thunder in the 2006 AIFL season, then played with his hometown Florida Frenzy in the NIFL for five games, throwing for 730 yards and five touchdows while rushing for a team-high seven touchdowns. He also played for the Miami Morays (NIFL) in 2005 and the Greenville (S.C.) Riverhawks in 2004.

"I felt like we needed a veteran,'' said GhostRiders head coach Marquette Smith. "Travis knows the reads and the game. No matter how good a rookie is, he's going to struggle a bit."

"Travis has also been a great help in practice because the rookies appreciate his persepctive," Smith added. "The players will listen to him more than me."

Right now, it's a battle between Wilson and former UCF star Brandon Sumner for the starting job next Saturday against the Augusta Spartans.

To make room for Wilson, the GhostRiders released Fabian Walker.
