Get Jacked this Summer and Work for the Pump Jacks

East Texas PumpJacks News Release

With the Pump Jacks season just a month away, the Jacks will hold their annual job fair this weekend to recruit the most important team members: their game-day employees

The East Texas Pump Jacks will be recruiting this week, but not for power hitters and pitching prospects. No, the Pump Jacks are looking for the other important members of the team, like concessions, ticket, and promo employees.

The Pump Jacks will host the team's annual job fair on Sunday and Monday, May 4 and 5, to hire game staff for the organization's seventh season this summer.

"New head coach John Foster has been scouring the country for players," said general manager Mike Lieberman. "But we do our own kind of recruiting right here in East Texas, looking for fun-loving and enthusiastic people to make up our team of employees for the summer."

Lieberman explained just how important the Jacks' summer staff is.

"Fans come to Pump Jacks games not just for great baseball, but also to enjoy the family-fun environment. It's our employees who create that atmosphere, and it's our employees who help make a Pump Jacks game special."

The job fair will take place on Sunday, May 4, from 1 to 6 p.m., and Monday, May 5, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. It will be held at the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce, located at 813 North Kilgore Street in Kilgore.

Nearly every position at the ballpark is available. Applicants can work in the ticket office, in concessions, selling beer, as wait staff, with the promo team... even as mascots!

"No matter where you work in the ballpark, this experience is different from your typical summer job," said Lieberman. "Fans come to historic Driller Park to have fun, and that excitement extends to every corner of the ballpark, including employees.

"One of the most enjoyable aspects of the Pump Jacks staff is that we attract so many different people. This can be a great first job, an excellent secondary job, and our schedule fits well for people with the summer off, like teachers."

Applicants can visit the job fair to learn about the different positions available and to complete an application. Interviews will be conducted on-site, so applicants are encouraged to dress accordingly. Applicants must be at least 16 years old to be hired.

A list of some of the positions available and information on the job fair can also be found on the Pump Jacks official website at www.pumpjacksbaseball.com.
