
Georgia's Morris, Arizona's Trufant and Dallas' Pettis Earn Week 14 Honors

NEW YORK - Georgia Force WR/LB CARL MORRIS, Arizona Rattlers DB ISAIAH TRUFANT and Dallas Desperados WR/DB WILL PETTIS have been named Offensive Player, ADT Defensive Player, and Ironman of the Week, respectively, for Week 14 of the 2008 season.
OFFENSIVE: Morris (6-3, 213, Harvard) recorded Week 14-highs of 15 receptions for 157 yards and three touchdowns as the Georgia Force (8-5) defeated the Tampa Bay Storm (6-7), 56-55, on Saturday. Morris registered receiving touchdowns of 31, 14 and seven yards as Georgia's offense scored on eight of 10 possessions. Georgia travels to Nationwide Arena to face the Columbus Destroyers (3-10) on Saturday, June 7 at 7 p.m. ET (AFL NET, CSS - Live, Columbus Sports Net - Live).
ADT DEFENSIVE: Trufant (5-8, 170, Eastern Washington) recorded six tackles, two forced fumbles, one interception and one pass defensed as the Arizona Rattlers (7-6) defeated the Orlando Predators (8-6), 60-53, on Saturday. Trufant recorded the game's first tackle and then ended Orlando's first possession by intercepting a QB JAKE EATON pass on Arizona's seven-yard line. On the first play of the Predators third possession, Trufant stripped WR DEANDREW RUBIN, forcing a fumble that was recovered by Arizona DB ARIC WILLIAMS on Orlando's 21-yard line. Moments later, after a Rattlers score made it 14-6, Trufant stripped Orlando WR/DB KEVIN NICKERSON, forcing his second fumble that was recovered by Rattlers LB KURT KAHUI on the Predators 24-yard line. Trufant registered defensive stops on three of Orlando's first four possessions, allowing Arizona to take a 14-6 lead they would not relinquish. The Rattlers travel to the Sprint Center to face the Kansas City Brigade (3-10) on Sunday, June 8 at 2 p.m. ET (FSN Arizona - Delay at 2:30 p.m. PT, FSN Midwest - Delay at 3:30 p.m. CT, SIRIUS Radio - Channel 130).
IRONMAN: Pettis (6-0, 200, Midwestern St.) accounted for six touchdowns (4 - receiving, 1 - rushing, 1 - passing) as the Dallas Desperados (11-2) defeated the Cleveland Gladiators (7-6), 68-52, on Saturday. Pettis recorded the Desperados first score of the game by throwing his second career passing touchdown to WR ANTHONY ARMSTRONG for the second consecutive week. He also recorded a game-high 13 receptions for 118 yards while registering touchdown receptions of 21, five, nine and two. Pettis' five-yard touchdown run with 56 seconds remaining in the first-half gave Dallas a 10 point lead, its largest of the half. On defense, Pettis corralled a team-high six tackles as the Desperados held Cleveland to 21 second-half points. The Desperados welcome the Philadelphia Soul (10-3) to American Airlines Center on Saturday, June 7 at 8 p.m. ET (AFL NET, ESPN360.com, Metro Sports Local - Live).

McKelvey.
ADT Defensive Player of the Week candidates included: Georgia DB Tony Tiller, New Orleans DB Calvin Spears DB Anthony Floyd and DB Lin-J Shell, New York DB Levy Brown, San Jose DL Ron Jones and DB Omarr Smith, Utah DB Eddie Canonico.
Ironman of the Week candidates included: Dallas FB/LB Josh White, Georgia FB/LB Matt Huebner, New York WR/DB Chris Anthony and Utah FB/LB Rodney Filer.
