Georgia Gwizzlies Put Together Hurricane Relief Effort

September 2, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Georgia Gwizzlies News Release

Macon, GA. The ABA Georgia Gwizzlies organization is once again asking the professional basketball community to join in preparing for the upcoming forecasted hurricanes Hanna and Ike expect to hit the east coast later this week.

"We are asking concerned athletes, owners and coaches to standby to donate and volunteer to the Red Cross and other Middle and Coastal Georgia charities and non-profits should these storms arrive here and cause serious problems," stated Gwizzlies owner Embry Malone. "Hurricane Hanna is expected to land near Savannah and will also affect the Macon area. Excellent preparations in the Gulf Coast this past weekend helped the situation there immensely - and we should be just as prepared."
