
Georgia Drops 13-10 to Colorado; Oakes Turns Heads with Breakout Game

DENVER, Colo. - The Georgia Swarm (0-5) dropped its fifth-straight game last night as they fell 13-10 to the Colorado Mammoth (4-3). Seth Oakes suited up in Swarm threads for the second time this season, notching three goals one of which was a no-look behind the back goal.
Andrew Kew has a season-best eight-point performance after dishing out seven assists and notching one goal. Lyle Thompson, Shayne Jackson, and Bryan Cole all recorded four points in the affair, tying each other for second on the team in points. Cole notched two goals and two assists, eclipsing his 100th career point now totaling 101.
Both teams were successful on power plays with the Swarm converting 4-of-5 (80 percent) and the Mammoth 5-of-6 (83 percent). Thompson, Cole, Kew, and Jackson all notched one man-up goal each.
Defensively, TJ Comizio continued to be a dominate force, causing four turnovers now totaling 11 on the season. Adam Wiedeman and Jordan MacIntosh were close behind Comizio, forcing three turnovers each. Wiedemann picked up 10 loosies throughout the game and one goal in the third quarter which gave the Swarm an 8-7 advantage. Brett Dobson started his third-straight game in net, comprising 37 saves and a .755 save percentage.
The Swarm head back to Atlanta to face the Toronto Rock this Friday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 PM ET. Georgia and Toronto split the series against one another last season with both teams taking the win on the road.
