
Genest and Lévesque earn Radio-Canada bursaries

MONTREAL, Tuesday, April 21, 2009 - Société Radio-Canada in collaboration with Alliance Sport-Ãtudes today announced that Hubert Genest of the Quebec Remparts and Gabriel Lévesque of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies have each earned one of the twenty-eight $500 bursaries awarded to the most distinguished student-athletes of the past year.
Both players are enlisted in the Alliance Sport-Ãtudes program. Their partners include twenty-four cegep and colleges as well as seven universities.
Hubert Genest collected three goals and ten assists with a +21 rating this season. He hopes to complete cegep in 2010 and then pursue a bachelor's degree in physiotherapy.
Gabriel Lévesque registered twelve goals and thirty helpers in sixty-seven games. He is scheduled to complete the applied sciences program at the cegep in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
Société Radio-Canada enthusiastically supports young prospects and the future leaders of our society. Since 1999, Société Radio-Canada has awarded over $110,000 in bursaries to more than 220 student-athletes.
