'Generals Idol' Part of Season-Opening Homestand

Jackson, Tenn. - The 2016 season is right around the corner, and the Jackson Generals are on the lookout for talent! The team will be hosting auditions for singers and musicians interested in performing the National Anthem and/or God Bless America during games on Saturday, April 9 from 10:00 am to noon!

"Generals Idol" is just part of a fun-filled homestand as Jackson opens up with five games against the Montgomery Biscuits Thursday, April 7. It marks the first time that the team has started a season at home since 2012, and only the second time since 2005. Dollar Night and Fireworks Extravaganza set the tone for yet another exciting year at The Ballpark at Jackson!

Meet the Players - Wednesday, April 6th - 6:00 pm CT

-   Get to know the 2016 Generals! One night before the season gets underway, fans will be introduced to the squad in the Warehouse at Englewood Baptist Church's Jackson campus. After meeting the team, there will be an autograph session. Admission is free of charge! The event gets started at 6:00 pm CT at 2239 N. Highland Avenue, Jackson, TN 38305.

Opening Night - Thursday, April 7th - 7:05 pm CT

-   The Generals kick off 2016 with a Dollar Night, once again made possible by State Farm Agent Wes Harris in Jackson! Fans can purchase general admission tickets, hot dogs, popcorn, 12-oz. soda and beer for just $1! First pitch is at 7:05 pm CT.

Fireworks Night - Saturday, April 9th - 6:05 pm CT

-   It is the first of 14 fireworks shows at The Ballpark this season! On the first Saturday of the season, the Generals say thanks to all the teachers and administrators that make a difference on Educators Appreciation Night sponsored by Freed-Hardeman University! First pitch is at 6:05 pm CT.

-   The day gets underway in the morning with Generals Idol! Singers and musicians interested in performing the National Anthem and/or God Bless America at The Ballpark this year should arrive at 10:00 am. Auditions will take place in the order of arrival.

Family FunDay Sunday - Sunday, April 10th - 2:05 pm CT

-   Bring the whole family out for a Sunday matinee! Children 12-years-old and younger get free admission, ice cream, fun zone access and the opportunity to play catch on the field pregame! First pitch is at 2:05 pm CT.

School Day - Monday, April 11th - 11:05 am CT

-   It is the first of three school days at The Ballpark! Children who come with their school get free admission and a chance to learn from Sarge! Lunch packs including a hot dog, chips and a cookie are available for just $6! First pitch is at 11:05 am CT.
