Gaucher and Bolduc Honoured During Game 2

Quebec City, QC - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League took advantage of the second game of the 2021 President Cup Final presented by Rogers and the 2,000 fans in attendance at the Videotron Centre to underline two award winners.

QMJHL Director of Player Services Natacha Llorens handed out the CIBC Marcel-Robert Trophy to Foreurs forward Jacob Gaucher prior to the initial puck drop. An independent committee chose the Longueuil, QC native as the Scholastic Player of the Year following an extensive review of his academic portfolio and an interview. Gaucher has already completed 15 courses of his Business Degree at the University of New Brunswick and has maintained an outstanding GPA of 4.1 in the process.

Rafaël Harvey-Pinard, the 2020 Marcel-Robert Trophy winner, made the announcement to Gaucher and the fans gathered at the Videotron Centre. Francesco Lapenna (Drummondville Voltigeurs) and Mathieu Gagnon (Rouyn-Noranda Huskies) were the two other finalists for the award.

Zachary Bolduc named the QMJHL's Kubota Top Prospect

Rimouski Océanic forward Zachary Bolduc was surprised by Louis Jean and Mike Bossy on the Videotron Centre's jumbotron during game two of the President Cup Final. The TVA Sports hosts unveiled his name as the Michael Bossy Trophy winner at the end of the first intermission.

The Trois-Rivières, QC native is ranked 17th on the final NHL Central Scouting's North American list which was published on Thursday. Bolduc scored ten goals and collected 17 assists in 27 regular season games. Rimouski's first round pick in 2019 has maintained a point-per-game average following his first two junior seasons.

Zachary L'Heureux (Halifax Moosheads) and Xavier Bourgault (Shawinigan Cataractes) were the other two finalists of the Kubota Top Prospects Award. Like Bolduc, they are both listed as potential first round selections by NHL Central Scouting.
