NEW ORLEANS (August 15, 2012) - New Orleans VooDoo named Gary Gussman Interim General Manager, announced VooDoo Owner Dan Newman on Wednesday afternoon.

Gussman has 23 years of service in the AFL as a player, coach, and operations manager, and has three seasons to his credit with the New Orleans VooDoo. His first two years with the VooDoo came in 2007 and 2008, and went on to work for the Orlando Predators in 2010 and 2011 under former Predators Head Coach and current VooDoo Head Coach Pat O'Hara.

In his first stint with the VooDoo and Predators, Gussman served as the Assistant Head Coach/Special Teams Coordinator. In 2012, Gussman served as the VooDoo's Director of Football Operations.

"Gary has a wealth of knowledge regarding the AFL, having been a player and a coach in the league for over 20 seasons. Gary stepping into this interim role for us right now speaks a lot to his character, and we appreciate his willingness to do this while we continue our search to fill the vacancy," said VooDoo Owner Dan Newman.

The vacant general manager position will remain open until filled. Those interested applicants can email VooDoo owner Dan Newman at dan@aflvoodoo.com.
