Game Two Suspended in the Bottom of the 8th
September 6, 2014 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Savannah Sand Gnats News Release
Game Two of the South Atlantic League Division Series was suspended due to unplayable field conditions with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning.
After a sudden downpour, the field did not drain and the warning track was deemed unplayable by the umpires, resulting in the suspension of tonight's contest. Game Two will resume at 4PM tomorrow. A Gnats comeback would force a decisive Game Three, which would be scheduled to begin at 6:05pm.
The Sand Gnats would like to extend a special Thank You to the Front Office of the Asheville Tourists Baseball Club who joined our Front Office and Grounds Crew in an attempt to salvage and repair the field after tonight's rain.
If you came to tonight's game, your ticket will get you into the resumption of the Suspended Game. If you didn't make it out to tonight's game, you can get a $3 ticket that will be good for both the resumption of Friday's game AND Game 3 (if necessary)!
Please spread the word! There will be baseball in "ªSavannah tomorrow!
