Kennesaw-The Atlanta Blaze will return home to Fifth Third Bank Stadium for the second weekend in a row this Saturday June 11th at 7 pm to face the defending MLL champions, the New York Lizards. Coming off a 21-12 loss last weekend against Boston, the Blaze are fueled by the loss and are determined to break the Lizards 4-1 record. The Lizards are also motivated to continue their winning season after a 21-18 win over Denver last weekend. New York`s Rob Pannell had 4 goals and 1 assist in their past game and Lizards midfielder Dave Lawson also racked in 4 goals and one 2-point goal, while acclaimed midfielder Paul Rabil totaled 3 goals, one 2-point goal and 2 assists.

On the Blaze Bench, Randy Staats continued his outstanding season adding 3 goals and 1 assist to his resume. Attackman Kevin Rice was another dominant force on the Blaze bench, with a total of 2 goals and 2 assists in last weekend's game against the Boston Cannons.

Former Duke standout and #1 2016 MLL draft pick Myles Jones also played an impressive game with 2 goals and 1 assist in his first Major League Lacrosse debut.

"I`m excited to play against the defending league champions. It`s another great test for our new team as we look for better results after getting one game under our belts. They [the Lizards] have great talent, some of the best in the league, but we`re fired up to rise to the occasion." stated Jones.

Deemer Class, Jones' former Duke teammate and 10th draft pick for the Blaze in the 2016 MLL draft was no disappointment in his first appearance in the Blaze uniform, totaling 2 goals against the Cannons last weekend.

"We are excited to play. They`re an experienced team that has a lot of talent. It'll be a fun matchup and I'm looking forward to playing against some old teammates in Dave Lawson and Jake Tripucka," Class notes. "We`re looking to continue to develop more chemistry as an offensive unit and bring the home crowd a win."

Looking forward to the upcoming game, Coach Tucker shared his thoughts on the Lizards/Blaze matchup:

"Our team is a steady work in progress as we grow and develop over the season. The New York game presents another terrific challenge for us. I'm confident our boys will bring energy, passion and production as we take on the Lizards. We have an incredible organization and I`m really enjoying watching these young men give their all each and every game."
