Philadelphia Soul News Release

ORLANDO, FL - Just like every situation in life, a champion will find his footing after stumbling. In this instance, the Back-to-Back American Conference Champion Philadelphia Soul have stumbled out of the gate, but are prepared to rise up and achieve their first win of the season.

The Soul (0-3) will travel to Orlando to take on the Orlando Predators (3-1) at the CFE Arena on Thursday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on The Comcast Network with Lou Tilley and Tom Goodhines calling the action.

During Week Four, the Soul fell to the Tampa Bay Storm, 63-49. Although the Soul outscored the Storm 21-14 in the final quarter, they couldn't close the deal.

"Collectively, as a group, we need to step up and make plays," said Soul head coach Clint Dolezel. "We have had times in the game where we need to execute and finish - we haven't been doing that. We know the talent is there, now we have to go out and prove it."

Soul wide receiver, Anthony "Tiger" Jones has continued to be a valuable asset to his team. He leads the Soul in scoring (36 points), behind Soul fullback Derrick Ross (42 points). Last week, Tiger hauled in nine receptions for 94 yards and three touchdowns. He succeeded in being consistent target for quarterback Dan Raudabaugh throughout the entire game.

The players to keep an eye out for during this upcoming game are two of the most determined wide receivers in the league. Soul Ryan McDaniel leads his team with 26 receptions, 296 yards and six touchdowns. The Predators' Khalil Paden is in the same boat as McDaniel, with 27 receptions, 388 yards and six touchdowns. This should be an intense matchup as both look to match each other's stat lines.

Soul linebacker Joe Goosby also remains working hard. He gained the first Soul interception of the season and returned it for a touchdown during the Week Four game against the Storm. He is now the only player on the Soul to have any interceptions for this season.

Predators' quarterback Jason Boltus is a huge player the Soul should watch out for. He leads his team in rushing yards (69) and passing yards (1,173). He recently became the Predators' starting quarterback after only appearing in 15 games over two seasons as a backup in Utah. Predators' wide receiver Greg Carr leads his team in receiving with 25 receptions, 278 yards, and six touchdowns. The pair together gained a 40-yard score during their Week Four game against the VooDoo.

The Soul will finally come home and take on the Jacksonville Sharks during their Week Six game on Saturday, April 19 at the Wells Fargo Center.
