Near the Top

San Antonio FC currently leads the entire USL Championship with 21 points alongside the Tampa Bay Rowdies. SAFC and the Rowdies are the only two remaining unbeaten teams in the league with each club compiling 6-0-3 records through nine matches. Aside from their nine point Group D lead, SAFC ranks fifth in the league with 17 goals scored, and first in the league with four goals conceded and six clean sheets.

From the Spot

San Antonio FC has earned penalty kicks in back to back games, earning their first two since the start of the 2020 season. PC buried the first one for SAFC on 8/19 while Luis Solignac scored his team-leading fourth goal the following match on 8/22. Last season, SAFC attempted five penalties, scoring four of them. Jack Barmby led the way with two penalty goals while Frank Lopez and Pecka each chipped in one. Overall in team history, SAFC has scored 13 of their 17 penalty kicks in regular season play with former midfielder Rafa Castillo leading the way with six penalty goals.
