Bellingham Bells News Release
BELLINGHAM, Wash. - The Bellingham Bells are happy to announce Jared Karros, a right-handed pitcher who is committed to The University of California, Los Angeles, will join the 2019 roster.
Karros, a Manhattan Beach, Calif. native, is currently a senior at Mira Costa High School where he has helped the Mustangs to back-to-back Bay League titles.
"Jared is an accomplished high school player with tremendous upside," Bells' pitching coach and recruiting coordinator Jim Clem said. "He has developed three solid pitches and has a very competitive spirit. We are excited about what Jared brings to the Bells and look forward to him coming to Bellingham."
An All-Bay League selection last spring, the six-foot-six-inch Karros is part of UCLA's No. 4 ranked recruiting class, per Baseball America. He is ranked as the No. 57 right-handed pitcher in California and as the No. 184 overall prospect.
He is also the son of former UCLA and Los Angeles Dodgers star Eric Karros, who won National League Rookie of the Year in 1992.
Karros and the Bells will begin the 2019 campaign on June 4 against the Kelowna Falcons at Joe Martin Field.
