Detroit Fury News Release
AUBURN HILLS, MICH.- The Detroit Fury announced today that they have waived quarterback Rickey Foggie, fullback/linebacker Errick Herrin and defensive specialist Torey Hunter. No replacements for the open positions have been named, but announcements are expected within the next 48 hours. Drew Miller has been tabbed as Saturday's starting quarterback for Detroit.
"Either a team gets better or worse," said Head Coach Mouse Davis. "We can't stay the same. We will get better. Whatever changes we made are with that in mind."
Foggie proved to be ineffective during his short stint in Detroit. He completed just 58-of-122 passes with a poor 47.5 completion percentage in four games. He passed for 801 yards, 16 TDs and his QB ranking was 93.78.
Herrin, in his second season with the Fury, recorded one interception and notched five tackles (3UT-4AT) in three games played.
Hunter led the Fury in tackles with 17.5 (15UT-5AT) and interceptions with two. Hunter played in three games in his first season in the AFL.
The Fury returns to the friendly confines of the Palace of Auburn Hills on Saturday, May 18 at 7:30 PM when they host the Indiana Firebirds. Fans are encouraged to arrive early in order to enjoy the pregame tailgate festivities. Tickets are available by calling (248) 377-0100 or by logging onto www.detroitfury.com.
