Ottawa Fury FC News Release
OTTAWA, ON - Ottawa Fury FC's return home paid off last Saturday as the club closed out April by capturing its first win of the season downing Miami FC 2-0 in front of a boisterous crowd of 7,000+ at TD Place. It was a complete team effort with every player having a role in the team's success and on Wednesday the NASL unveiled the Team of the Week that included two Fury FC members - defender Fernando Timbo and midfielder Lance Rozeboom.
Timbo earned his selection after scoring what proved to be winning goal - his first in Fury colours - as he poked a low shot past Miami goalkeeper Daniel Vega to give his team a 1-0 lead. The Brazilian was also very solid defensively helping Ottawa secure its first shutout of the season.
Rozeboom stepped up in the absence of captain Julian de Guzman and proved to be a key component of Ottawa's first win of the season. Rozeboom completed 26 of his 31 passes for an 84% pass completion percentage. Alongside Jonny Steele and James Bailey, Rozeboom helped stabilize Fury FC's midfield which proved to be effective all afternoon.
Fury FC continue their home stand at TD Place this Saturday hosting Minnesota United FC for the first time since defeating the Loons in last year's NASL Championship Semifinal.
