OTTAWA, ON - 1 week. 3 matches. 3 wins.

Ottawa Fury FC made it three wins in three games on Saturday evening, defeating the visiting Tampa Bay Rowdies 2-0 in front of more than 5200+ that rocked TD Place for 90+ minutes. The victory marks the third straight shutout for goalkeeper Romuald Peiser and Fury FC who have not conceded a goal in 278 minutes.

"We are so together in that locker room, from everyone on the coaching staff, the front office, the team, everyone is just together as a unit...it's just a feel-good factor at the moment and long may it continue," said Fury FC head coach Paul Dalglish after his side claimed a crucial three points to improve their Fall Season record to 3-0-3.

Defender Mallan Roberts opened the scoring early for Ottawa, firing Mauro Eustaquio's lofted pass into the Rowdies goal just two minutes into the game for his first goal as a member of Fury FC. A first half Tampa Bay own goal sealed the victory for Ottawa, who now climbs to fifth place in the fall table, improving their record to 3-0-3.

Despite the scoreline, it was a hard-fought match for both squads who were playing their third game in a week.

"For the players to show that level of effort, desire, determination - it's probably the proudest I have been for the players," Dalglish added. "We found out a lot about the players tonight and how much they want to be here and how much they want to play and win for this organization.

Twenty-three-year-old Mauro Eustaquio got the start Saturday night and the midfielder did not disappoint, making 61 touches, picking up an assist and completing 82.6% of his passes.

"He got his chance and he stepped up to the plate and was able to perform. That is what you expect from a guy like Mauro on a professional level and he definitely sets an example for a lot of other guys who haven't got their chance or who wants their chance," said Fury FC captain Julian de Guzman.

Fury FC could hardly wait for kick-off to score their first goal of the game. Defender Mallan Roberts rippled the back of the net in just the second minute with a low, hard strike past a diving Matt Pickens. Fury FC midfielder Mauro Eustaquio was credited with an assist on the goal after his lofted pass back into the Rowdies 18-yard box created the scoring opportunity.

The early goal sparked a formidable Rowdies pushback, but Fury FC remained resolute in defence, limiting the opposition to just two shots on target, one of which was turned away by goalkeeper Romuald Peiser with a great toe save. Fury FC were rewarded again for their positive counterattacking play in the 36th minute when Maxim Tissot's attempted chip pass was inadvertently turned into goal by Rowdies' centre back Tamika Mkandawire.

Fury FC nearly added to their lead early in the second half with striker Thomas Stewart forcing a fine save from Rowdies goalkeeper Pickens with a hard, one-time strike. A minute later, Maxim Tissot picked out a wide-open Carl Haworth in the box, but the in-form striker was unable to turn his effort on goal, firing high and wide. Ottawa slowly locked up shop as the second half wore on, limiting the visitors to only low-quality shooting opportunities.

Dalglish had six Canadians in his starting XI Saturday night, with seven Canadians featuring over the course of 90 minutes, including local products, Maxim Tissot, Jamar Dixon and Eddie Edward.

Fury FC will be back on the road next weekend for a clash with Indy Eleven at Michael A. Carroll Stadium on Saturday, August 6, before returning to TD Place the following week to host Jackonsville Armada FC .
