Denver Summit FC and Boston Legacy FC split the points in a 1-1 draw on Sunday night, with Boston owning the lead after one half only for Denver to fight back and end things level. Boston's Sammy Smith opened the scoring in the first half as goalkeeper Casey Murphy launched a ball downfield to Smith to latch onto and ultimately finish. The assist for Murphy is just the fourth-ever goalkeeper assist in NWSL history. However, into the second half, Denver's Janine Sonis buried a penalty kick with precision to pull the home side even at one all. As pressure mounted on the Boston goal, the visitors were able to fend off any further threats and the contest ended in a draw.
