In a battle of the expansion teams, the Denver Summit FC (5-6-5, 20 pts) took on the Boston Legacy FC (5-8-5, 20 pts) at home, pulling away with a 1-1 draw, the squad's fifth of the season.

Legacy's Sammy Smith scored the first goal of the match in the 33rd minute off an assist from keeper Casey Murphy, the fourth goalkeeper assist in NWSL history.

Keeping her perfect record, Janine Sonis converted a penalty kick that proved to be the equalizer in the 72nd minute ... Sonis is now 3-for-3 in PKs this season and sits atop the league alongside Legacy's Amanda Gutierres and Louisville's Taylor Flint ... the co-captain also leads the club in total goals scored this season (7).

The Summit has scored in their last three home matches with Sonis contributing in all three (three goals, one assist) ... Sonis has made nine goal contributions this season (seven goals, two assists) for her single-season best.

The Summit entered the match 1-4-0 when conceding the opening goal and 0-2-0 when trailing at halftime, adding a draw to each tally.

After scoring her first career goal and game-winner against the Portland Thorns on July 18, Natalie Means earned her fourth career start.

For the fifth time this season, the Denver Summit played in front of a sold out crowd with 12,380 fans coming to cheer on the team in their second home match at Centennial Stadium ... Denver has sold out all but two matches this season.
