Frontier League Penalizes Otters 10 Games
Published on August 24, 2015 under Frontier League (FL) News Release
The Frontier League Office learned recently, that the Evansville Otters had an ineligible player that participated during the 2015 season. Upon learning this fact, the League immediately contacted the Otters ownership and management. Commissioner Bill Lee conducted an investigation into the matter and determined that indeed an ineligible player participated in 13 games during the season. The Otters won 10 of those games.
Frontier League Rules and Regulations state that the use of an ineligible player will result in the forfeiture of any games in which the player participated. Therefore, the Otters have forfeited the 10 games in which the ineligible player participated and the Otters won. As a result of the forfeitures, the following teams will receive credit for more wins and also less losses during the season: Southern Illinois and Washington receive 2 wins, Florence, Gateway, Lake Erie, Normal, Traverse City and Windy City all receive 1 win.
The Frontier League statistical service, Pointstreak, has advised the League that the change in records and standings will take several days to be reflected. All statistics from the affected games will remain in place.
