Friendly Excitement: Like the Pump Jacks and Get Free Tickets

The East Texas Pump Jacks are so excited about their fourth Opening Night, they want all their friends to attend. Facebook friends, that is.

With the June 6 home opener rapidly approaching, the Pump Jacks announced that any fan who "likes" the team's official page on Facebook can receive a pair of free tickets to Opening Night.

Pump Jacks management was quick to point out there's no catch, and no purchase is necessary.

"We're excited about Opening Night, and we want our fans to be pumped up too," said general manager Mike Lieberman. "We have the best team we've ever assembled and we're coming off a trip to the TCL Championship Series. Fans will still get to enjoy Fireworks Fridays and Thirsty Thursdays at historic Driller Park.

"So to kick off our fourth season, we decided we want all of our loyal fans to come join the party!"

Every fan is eligible to receive two free Grandstand tickets for the June 6 game, a 2010 TCL Championship Series rematch against the Victoria Generals. And getting the tickets is as easy as following these simple directions:

1. Visit the Pump Jacks page on Facebook and click the "Like" button at the top of the page.

2. Send an e-mail to facebook@pumpjacksbaseball.com with your name, address and phone number.

3. The ticket office will verify that you "Like" the Pump Jacks and give you two tickets for Opening Night!

After an e-mail is confirmed, two tickets will be placed in Will Call under the fan's name. The tickets will be available for pick-up on Opening Night at the ticket office at Driller Park. Fans who wish to pick up their tickets earlier may do so at the Pump Jacks new downtown offices at 114 North Kilgore Street this coming week from Tuesday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., or on June 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fans who receive free tickets also have the option to upgrade to box seats for the opener. With new, lower box seat prices for the 2011 season, fans can upgrade from Grandstand to Upper Box seats for just $1. Fans can upgrade to Lower Box seats - and in-your-seat wait service - for just $3.

The ticket giveaway is subject to availability, so fans are encouraged to act quickly. E-mails must be received by the end of the day on Sunday, June 5, in order to be eligible to receive free tickets.

In the meantime, the Jacks office is hard at work preparing for the arrival of the team's first players on Monday. Most of the squad will be in town for a full practice Tuesday.

The Pump Jacks will close out its four-game season-opening road trip with a two-day visit to Coppell Friday and Saturday to face the three-time champion Copperheads.

The Jacks open the 2011 home schedule June 6 and 7 against Victoria. The team returns home June 10 for the season's first Fireworks Friday presented by Patterson Kilgore and KLTV News. East Texas wraps up the two game series with the new Acadiana Cane Cutters on Saturday, June 11, with Everybody's Winning Night.
