Fresno Legends Sign First Three Players for Next Season
April 9, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Fresno Legends News Release
Fresno, CA. The new expansion ABA Fresno Legends are excited to announce the signing of the first three players (legends from Fresno State University) for the upcoming season. They include Terrance Roberson, three time High School All American and one of Fresno State's all time leading forwards. Terrance had a short stint with the NBA New Orleans Hornets and also played in Italy and the NBDL. The team also signed Tremaine Fowlkes, an All American transfer from Cal to Fresno State who was drafted in the second round by the Denver Nuggets and also played for the Los Angeles Clippers and Detroit Pistons where he was on an NBA Championship team.
The third player signed was Hector Hernandez, a former player for the Mexican Olympic team. "This 6'9" forward with a 40-plus verticle jump can shoot and dribble like a guard," stated team owner Dominick Young. "Hector is a three-time WAC Scholar-Athlete and was a 2007 WAC All-Academic. A tremendous addition to our team for sure."
"We are very excited to have Tremaine, Terrance and Hector on the team to help our organization grow and to be one of the toughest teams in the ABA. Hector has a supporting cast in Fresno from the Latino community. A great win-win situation for us. He played alongside Javance Coleman and Washington Wizard's forward Dominick McGuire. We believe these three guys will be truly a team to watch this summer and in the upcoming season," added Young. For more information, email fresnolegends@yahoo.com or visit www.abalive.com.
