Fort Wayne Freedom News Release

FORT WAYNE - ...And then there was one. The Fort Wayne Freedom outlasted Sioux City 57-50 Saturday to stay unbeaten on the season at 6-0. With leagues best teams battling it out this was one game that lived up to the advance hype with Freedom with offense and enough defense to preserve the perfect season.

The win puts Fort Wayne in the drivers seat for a Midwest Division title, leading Ohio Valley (3-4) by 3 1/2 games and Peoria by 4 games. Next up for the Freedom is a rare Friday night tilt with the Rough Riders at Memorial Coliseum.

The Freedom jumped out to an early 9-0 lead and never trailed and were able to maintain a double-digit lead for most of the contest. The offense was able to answer any Bandit score, and the defense was able to come up with big plays to thwart any real threat to the lead.
