Freedom Finds a New Home

The Freedom is pleased to announce today that it is a member of the newly formed United Indoor Football Association (UIF). The UIF will kick off its inaugural season in 2005.

The UIF is comprised of 12 teams; Fort Wayne Freedom, Evansville Bluecats, Tupelo Fireants, Ohio Valley Greyhounds, Dayton Warbirds, Lexington Horsemen, Sioux Falls Storm, Sioux City Bandits, Black Hills Red Dogs, Omaha Beef, Tennessee Valley Pythons (Huntsville, AL) and Peoria.

There are three divisions with each of them having four teams.

North Division: Sioux Falls, Sioux City, Black Hills and Omaha

South Division: Evansville, Tennessee Valley, Lexington and Tupelo

Midwest: Fort Wayne, Dayton, Ohio Valley and Peoria

Each team's 2005 schedule will have 15 regular season games beginning in March with playoffs set for July.

The UIF has a non-affiliated executive director and office staff that is based out of Omaha. The league already has in place committees that will work together to focus on major areas of operations. The UIF and teams will work together as a cohesive unit to make this new association a success on and off the field.
