Freedom blast Peoria 52-32

The Peoria Rough Riders, didn't really didn't have a rivarly when it joined the UIF, that was until last night's 52-32 Freedom victory. The Freedom piled on more 320 yards of total offense, displayed yet another controling defense effort, compiled100 yards of Freedom penalties to serve as a reminder. Be sure, there will be more than enough emotion to make Saturday contest in Peoria very interesting.

The Riders hung tough for the first half, before the defense stopped any thoughts of a comeback in third and fourth quarters. Peoria scored just once in the second half.

The Freedom improve to 7-0, while Peoria drops to 2-5.

In the victory, Bryan Whilte completed 17-of-28 passes for 220 yards and 5 touchdowns in the win. Jeremy Dutcher caught 7 passes for 135 yards including 4 touchdowns. Rocky Harvey rushed 11 times for 66 yards and a touchdown.

The defense posted another dominating effort, limiting the Rough Riders to just 140 yards of total offense, including 64 passing. Carlos Smith combined for 9 tackles, he also scored on a 33-yard interception return and added a fumble recovery in the second half.

These two squads will hook up again Saturday night in Peoria.
