
Free Agents Hunt, Smith Signed

TAMPA BAY - The five-time world champion Tampa Bay Storm have signed rookie free-agent offensive/defensive lineman Aaron Hunt and wide receiver/defensive back Leroy Smith, Head Coach and General Manager Tim Marcum announced today.
Hunt, a 6-foot-3, 267-pound lineman, spent the last three seasons in the NFL with the Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins. Last season, the Texas Tech University standout, played in NFL Europe with the Hamburg Sea Devils where he recorded 23 tackles, three sacks totaling a loss of 20 yards and a blocked field goal on special teams.
The 25-year old from Denison, Texas finished his Red Raider career (1999-2002) with the most sacks in school and Big 12 Conference history with 34. He also amassed 300 tackles (108 during his senior season), six forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries, both of which were returned for touchdowns.
Smith, a 5-10, 190-pound WR/DB was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 2005 NFL Draft. The former Florida State University cornerback finished his career (2001-04) with 80 tackles, six interceptions, two interceptions returned for touchdowns and 25 passes defended in 45 games played.
