July 18, 2010 - World Basketball Association (WBA)
Franklin Knights News Release
The Franklin (Tenn.) Knights used a strong second half Saturday night to pull away and earn a 133-118 win over the Marietta Storm in a World Basketball Association Exposure League (WBA) game in Smyrna, Ga.
Marietta, which had played Franklin close in their two previous meetings this season, opened up a 16-point lead in the first half before Franklin - behind some hot shooting from Myles Thrash - rallied and closed to within four points at halftime. In the second half, Franklin took control and went on to post its third win over the Storm in as many tries. Thrash led the way for Franklin, nailing nine 3-pointers en route to scoring a game-high 44 points.
Franklin will host Marietta Monday night in the WBA's final regular-season game. Marietta will host the Decatur Court Kings in the WBA's playoff play-in game July 22, while Franklin can clinch home-court advantage in the semifinals with another win over the Storm. If Franklin wins, its semifinal game will be July 25 at the A-Game Sportsplex in Franklin, Tenn.
