Franklin Knights Come Back For 135-131 OT Win Over Marietta Storm

The Franklin (Tenn.) Knights rallied in the fourth quarter and then held off the Marietta Storm in overtime for a 135-131 victory in a World Basketball Association Exposure League (WBA) game Monday night at the A-Game Sportsplex in Franklin, Tenn. The game was a back-and-forth affair throughout, as the Knights (10-4) opened up a 39-23 lead after one quarter, but Marietta (7-8) came back in the second period and got to within 66-62 at halftime. The Storm completed their rally in the third quarter and held a 96-88 lead going into the fourth period, but the Knights made a charge themselves and forced overtime with the score tied at 120. In the extra frame, Franklin outscoredd Marietta 15-11 to earn a hard-fought home win. Charles Little led a balanced Franklin attack with 27 points and nine rebounds. Myles Thrash finished with 25 points, eight assists and three steals, Jerrell Houston pitched in 23 points, seven rebounds, six assists, six blocked shots and three steals, Maurice Williams had 19, Josh Goodwin netted 15 and Jeremiah Crutcher chipped in 11 for the Knights in the win.

Marietta, which dressed just six players for the game, was led by a pair of 35-point performers. Parrish Brown had 35 points, nine assists and six rebounds and Lance Perique had 35 points and nine rebounds. John Thomas scored 24 points and added eight rebounds and three assists, Casey Love had a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds and Anthony Joseph tossed in 14 points and 13 rebounds of his own in the loss.

The WBA Exposure League serves as a training ground to develop players on and off the court. Emphasis is placed on exposure, development, community involvement, and most importantly providing an exciting brand of basketball and entertainment.
