
Four New Players Join the Montréal Alliance

Montréal, QC - The Montréal Alliance announced Friday that it has signed four new Canadian players ahead of the 2022 season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL): Samuel Cayo, Samuel Chaput, Lewis Diankulu and Élie Karojo.
A six-foot-two guard, Cayo played 12 games this season with the University of Québec in Montréal. The Laval native averaged 11.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 41.6 percent from the field and 30.0 percent from the three-point line.
A six-foot-one guard, Chaput played the last four seasons in the NCAA's division I with Monmouth University. The Longueuil native played his best season in 2019-2020, averaging 5.2 points, 3.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 31 games.
A six-foot-seven centre, Diankulu grew up in Mississauga, Ontario, and played his college basketball at McCook Community College and Queen's University. After graduating, the Canadian centre played with the Island Storm in the NBLC before joining the Leicester Warriors in England. This season, Diankulu averaged 21.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 13 games played with the Warriors.
A six-foot-seven forward, Karojo was born in the Congo and grew up in Montréal. Karojo graduated from Collège Montmorency before joining Carleton University. In five regular season games played at Carleton, Karojo averaged 3.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists. Karojo was also part of the team when Carleton won the U SPORTS National Championship in 2019-2020. This season, the Montrealer played in two games with the uOttawa Gee-Gees before an injury ended his season.
Cayo, Chaput, Karojo and Diankulu join point guards Kemy Ossé, Hernst Laroche, Lawi Msambya and Alain Louis, shooting guard Isiah Osborne, forwards Dominic Green, James Jean-Marie, Ashley Hamilton, Abdul Mohamed and Nathan Cayo as well as centers Marc-André Fortin and Gaios Skordilis and will join the team for the beginning of training camp for the 2022 CEBL season starting May 16.
