SAN DIEGO - The WUSA unveiled the Founders Cup III logo today at a press conference hosted by the San Diego Spirit at the Jenny Craig Pavilion on the campus of the University of San Diego. Founders Cup III, the WUSA Championship Game, will be played at Torero Stadium on Sunday, August 24, 1 p.m. PT.
WUSA President & CEO Lynn Morgan, Cox Communications Vice President & General Manager Bill Geppert, San Diego Spirit General Manager Dave Presher and San Diego Spirit forward Shannon MacMillan were present on the dais.
"San Diego was chosen because of the community, corporate and fan support that the Spirit has received over the past two years," said Morgan. "The city also has a history of hosting major sporting events and championship games and we wanted to be a part of that."
Founders Cup III tickets will go on sale to the general public on June 15 and will be available through all Ticketmaster outlets.
