Fort Worth Overcomes Mallards in Shootout

RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (November 21, 2012) - Phil Fox and Tomas Klempa converted penalty shots and Kristofer Westblom made 22 saves in regulation and overtime before stopping all four Quad City Mallard penalty shots as the host Fort Worth Brahmas defeated the Mallards 2-1 in a shootout Wednesday night. The Mallards earn one point for the shootout setback.

Before scoring twice in the shootout the Brahmas also got their only goal of regulation on a penalty shot when Austin Mayer tied the game at one by converting at 11:33 of the second period.

The Mallards' Brett Robinson had opened the scoring from the left wing circle at 12:49 of the first period.

The Mallards return to action Friday night on the road against the Wichita Thunder. The Mallards next play at home Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Tulsa Oilers. Fans can purchase four lower bowl seats for that game for just $40- a savings of better than $30 off the regular walk-up ticket price. In addition, hot dogs will be available for just $1 on Saturday evening.

The ticket office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period.

2012-13 Mallards season tickets as well as the Mallards' new Partial Punch Plan are also still available. The Mallards offer ticket packages to meet any budget, including youth season tickets now available for as little at $165.
