
Former Phantom receives honor

BOARDMAN, Ohio - Former Mahoning Valley Phantom and current West Point left wing Owen Meyer (Dundee, IL) was named the Atlantic Hockey Association's Rookie of the Week for the period ending Nov. 26.
Meyer recorded three assists in the Black Knights' 3-3 tie with Sacred Heart University on Nov. 21. He followed his performance with a goal in West Point's 4-1 loss to Union College on Nov. 24.
On the season, Meyer has four goals and five assists in 12 games with Army (6-6-2). His nine points are fifth on the team and are tied for fourth among all freshmen in the AHA.
In two seasons with the Phantoms, Meyer scored 29 goals and 31 assists in 108 games from 2004-2006.
The Mahoning Valley Phantoms are owned by the B.J. Alan Company- Phantom Fireworks, which is headquartered in Youngstown, Ohio.
