Former NFL and Rhode Island Stand-Out Fearon Wright Signs with Stampede

Harrisburg Stampede News Release

HARRISBURG, PA (December 18, 2011) - Harrisburg Stampede's General Manager and Head Coach, Bernie Nowotarski announced today that he has signed Defensive Lineman, Fearon Wright for the 2012 Season.

Former University of Rhode Island and Minnesota Viking, Fearon Wright is the next addition to the ever evolving Stampede defense. This is a defense predicated on being built around speed, strength and aggressiveness. Those are all the characteristics that Fearon brings to the Stampede. He is a leader on and off the field and he already has a Championship Ring from his 2010 season with the Baltimore Mariners. In his own words "Anything less than a Championship this season is unacceptable."

As in any sport, no Championship will just be handed to any one team. It takes off-season training, it takes discipline, it takes commitment, it takes hard work and it takes buying into the team's philosophy. The players who have signed on for the 2012 campaign including Fearon are all in with those standards.

The 6'2" 240lb defensive end has all the tools and desire to lead this defense to that goal of an AIF Championship and place that second ring on his finger. He plays hard, he plays fast, he plays aggressively and he understands the philosophy of the defense.

Just a Reminder: Stampede Open-Try Out Saturday January 7 at Gameface International Sports Complex in Temple Pa., Registration starts at 9pm and the Work-Out is from 10pm - 12:30am
